Minister for Planning, Development aur Special Initiatives (PD&SI) Professor Ahsan Iqbal ne Thursday ko ek high-level meeting ki sadarat ki, jis me SMEs (Small and Medium Enterprises) ke surveys ka plan discuss kiya gaya. Ye surveys Prime Minister ke directives ke mutabiq evidence-based decision making aur policy formulation ka base provide karenge.
Meeting mein Secretary Industries and Production, Chairman NADRA, CEO SMEDA aur Pakistan Bureau of Statistics ke Chief Statistician ke saath dosre senior officers ne hissa liya. Chief Statistician ne SMEs ke 13 prioritize sectors par surveys conduct karne ki strategy ka presentation diya.
Ahsan Iqbal ne SMEs ke un sectors ko prioritize karne par zor dia jo mulk ki exports ko significantly barhane ki salahiyat rakhte hain. Ye initiative Uraan Pakistan Program ke vision ke saath align kiya gaya hai.
SMEDA ko ye bhi kaha gaya ke wo provincial governments ke saath mil kar ek mechanism develop karein jo tamam business activities ko register karein aur is register ko district level par regularly update karein. Saath hi, State Bank of Pakistan ke saath consult karke ek framework banane ko kaha gaya, jis me har bank SMEs ke liye ek dedicated credit window open kare, khaas tor par export-oriented businesses ke liye.
Pakistan Bureau of Statistics ye surveys 7th Digital Census ke data aur economic frame ko use karte hue conduct karega, taake zyada coverage aur accurate representation ensure ki ja sake. Surveys ke liye important sectors mein manufacturing SMEs, fishing aur aquaculture, poultry farms, software development, health aur education, food services aur wholesale-retail trade shaamil hain.
Minister ne zor diya ke SMEs mulk ki exports mein 40% se 60% tak ka hissa daal sakti hain, agar unhein adequate banking support milay. Is mein trade financing facilities ko barhawa dena, accessible credit options aur innovative banking solutions ko develop karna shaamil hai.
Meeting ka focus economic growth, youth employment aur SME development ko promote karna tha, jis me sab stakeholders ke darmiyan strong collaboration ki zarurat ko highlight kiya gaya.
