PAKISTAN’S ECONOMY TAKES FLIGHT: GDP GROWS BY 2.5%, INFLATION DROPS TO JUST 7.2%

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan ki economy ne fiscal year 2024-25 ke pehle hissay mein positive trajectory continue rakhi hai, jo FY2024 mein stabilization ke baad ka result hai. GDP mein 2.5% ka izafa hua hai pichle saal ki contraction ke baad.

Yeh positive momentum sound macroeconomic management, inflation control measures aur fiscal aur external accounts ki stability ki wajah se possible hua. Finance Ministry ki Monday ko release hui report ke mutabiq, inflation H1-FY2025 mein 7.2% tak gir gaya hai jo ke ek saal pehle 28.8% tha. Is mein global prices ke kam hone, stable exchange rate aur government ke targeted policies ka bada role hai.

“State of Pakistan’s Economy Half Yearly Report July-December 2025” ke mutabiq, policy reforms, monetary easing aur fiscal consolidation ne sustainable economic momentum ke liye strong foundation banayi.

Report ke mutabiq, agriculture sector FY2024 mein 6.2% grow hua hai jo ke zyada investment, expanded agricultural credit aur favorable weather conditions ki wajah se possible hua. High-frequency indicators jaise ke machinery, investment aur water availability se future mein growth ke liye positive outlook ka pata chalta hai.

Industrial sector ka performance mixed raha, magar textile sector gradual improvement dikhane laga hai. Services sector ka positive trajectory par continue rehna expect hai, jo domestic activity aur trade ki growth ki wajah se hai.

Jul-Dec FY2025 ke dauran current account balance mein $1.21 billion ka surplus report hua. Record-high remittance inflows aur strong export performance ne increasing import bill ko offset kar diya.

Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) mein 20% ka izafa dekha gaya, jo power aur oil sectors mein investments ki wajah se hai. Foreign exchange reserves do mahine se zyada ki imports cover karne ke liye kaafi hain, jo IMF disbursements aur international financial assistance se supported hain.

Pakistani rupee mein 1.2% ki appreciation hui hai, jo ke favorable external developments ka reflection hai. Fiscal deficit Jul-Nov FY2025 ke dauran GDP ka sirf 0.04% raha, jo pichle saal ke deficit se bohot behtar hai.

Yeh improvement strong tax aur non-tax revenue growth ki wajah se hui, jo fiscal discipline, kam interest rates aur stable exchange rate ka nateeja hai.

Mazboot economic fundamentals, kam hoti hui inflation aur barhti hui investor confidence ke saath, Pakistan FY2025 ke dauran continued growth ke liye acha position rakhta hai.

Key policy measures jaise ke monetary easing aur export facilitation, private sector-driven growth ke liye conducive environment create kar rahe hain. Fiscal discipline aur improved external account ke saath favorable global trends ka expect hai ke yeh positive momentum sustain hoga.

Hukumat sustainable growth ke liye committed hai, structural challenges ko overcome karne aur inclusive development ko promote karne par focus kar rahi hai. Is hawale se, recently hukumat ne apna homegrown “5-Year Economic Transformation Plan, URAAN Pakistan” unveil kiya hai. Yeh plan inclusivity ko highlight karta hai aur Pakistan ki economic challenges ko pragmatic, inclusive aur self-reliant approach ke zariye address karne par focus karta hai.
