Pakistan ne Aug-2024 mein monthly IT exports US$298mn record kiye, jo ke pichlay saal se 27% ziyada hain aur pichlay mahine se 4% zyada. Ye IT exports pichlay 12 mahinon ke average US$275mn se bhi barh kar hain.
Year-on-Year (YoY) IT exports kay barhne ki reasons hain (1) Pakistani IT companies ka global client base mein izafa, khaaskar GCC region mein, (2) State Bank of Pakistan ki taraf se permissible retention limit ko 35% se barhakar 50% karna Exporters’ Specialized Foreign Currency Accounts mein, aur (3) PKR ki stability, jis ne IT exporters ko zyada profit Pakistan wapas lane par motivate kiya.
Month-on-Month (MoM) increase ki waja August mein zyada working days (21) hona hai as compare to July (20). August mein per day export proceeds US$14.2mn rahi jab kay July mein yeh US$14.3mn thi.
Pakistani IT companies international clients ke sath active engagement kar rahi hain. Hal hi mein Pakistan ke leading IT companies London Tech Week 2024, Collision Canada 2024, aur Black Hat, USA mein shamil hue.
Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA) ke survey ke mutabiq 62% IT companies specialized foreign currency accounts maintain kar rahi hain.
Jul-24 mein ek aham development yeh hui ke SBP ne Equity Investment Abroad (EIA) ki new category introduce ki, khaaskar IT export-oriented companies ke liye. Ab IT exporters apni specialized foreign currency accounts ki 50% proceeds ko istemal kar ke abroad entities mein shareholding hasil kar sakte hain. Is se IT exporters ka confidence barhega ke woh apni earnings Pakistan wapas la sakein.
Net IT Exports (Exports-Imports) ka monthly figure US$257mn raha, jo ke Aug-2024 mein 26% YoY zyada tha. Ye net IT exports numbers pichlay 12 months ke average US$241mn se bhi barh kar hain.
Expectations hain ke IT sector ka growth momentum barqarar rahega aur FY25 mein yeh 10-15% barh kar US$3.5-3.7bn tak pohnch sakta hai.
