Pakistan Refinery Limited (PRL) aur China ke United Energy Group (UEG) ne Pakistan ke petroleum sector mein $1.5 billion ki investment ke liye ek understanding memorandum (MoU) par sign kiya. Is step ka maqsad Pakistan ki mehngi import ki gayi fuel par dependance ko kam karna aur Pakistan ki ongoing energy crisis ka hal nikalna hai.
Yeh MoU Beijing mein hone wale 3rd Belt and Road Forum ke doraan kiya gaya, jahan Pakistan ke Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar aur Caretaker Energy Minister Muhammad Ali maujood thay.
Key points from the agreement include:
01- Refining Capacity Mein Izafa: MoU mein refinery ki capacity mein izafa shamil hai, jiske maqsad mehngi imported fuel ko badalna hai. Petrol ki production capacity ko 250,000 metric tons se 1.6 million metric tons tak barhana hai, aur high-speed diesel production capacity ko 0.6 million metric tons se 2 million metric tons tak izafa karne ka maqsad hai.
02 – Imports Par Dependance Kam Karna: Pakistan ke saath ek energy crisis hai, aur mulk ki external payments ka acha hissa energy imports par jata hai. MoU ka purpose apni local energy production ko barha kar energy crise ko kam karna he.
03 – Economic Impact: Expensive fuel aur energy ke prices ne Pakistan mein inflation ke level ko high kiya hai, jahan September mein 31.4 percent ka inflation rate tha. Isne Pakistan ke bohot se logon ko economic crises ka samna karne par majboor kiya hai, sath hi poverty mein izafa bhi hua hai.
04 – Diversification of Energy Sources: Is MoU ke ilawa, Pakistan ne energy sources mein diversification ki hai. Is mein Russia ke saath behtar taluqat qaim karna shamil hai aur Moscow ke saath pehle se ki gayi deal ke mutabiq crude oil ki deliveries bhi included hain, sath hi Russia se liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) ki bhi shipments included hain.
Petroleum sector mein hone wale investments aur expansions Pakistan ki energy challenges ko hal karne aur Pakistan ki economic stability ko behtar banane kay liye aham steps hain.
