Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) ne announce kiya hai ke uske exploratory well Sawan North Deep-1 ST-1 (SND-1 ST-1), Khairpur, Sindh mein hydrocarbon reserves discover huye hain.
Ye discovery Sawan Joint Venture ke zariye hui, jis mein UEP Beta (operator, 25% interest), Pakistan Petroleum Limited (30%), PPL Europe E&P Limited (10%), Prime AEP Limited (30%) aur Government Holdings (Private) Limited (5%) shamil hain.
Well ko 16 September 2024 ko spud-in kiya gaya tha aur yeh successfully 14,017 feet MD tak drill hua. Primary objective Lower Goru Formation (A-Interval Sands) ki hydrocarbon potential ko explore aur test karna tha.
Wireline log interpretation aur drilling results ke mutabiq, post-completion testing ke doran A-sand ke promising intervals se gas ka production 0.30 MMSCFD dar se record hua, FWHP ~100 psig par.
Pakistan Petroleum Limited ke mutabiq yeh Sawan area ka pehla well hai jo exclusive sequence stratigraphic (trap) evaluation approach se drill hua, jo pehli dafa is region mein hydrocarbon discovery ko validate karta hai aur naye exploration horizons kholta hai.
