International Monetary Fund (IMF) ne Pakistan ko naye fiscal year ke budget mein stationery items par tax lagane ka kaha hai.
IMF ne federal hukumat se kaha hai ke books, pens, paper, sticky notes, cardboard, aur doosre stationery items par jo tax exemptions hain unhe khatam kare. Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) is silsile mein Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif se jald se jald baat karega, local media ne budh ke din report kiya.
Dusri taraf, hukumat pehle hi tractors, pesticides, aur doosre zaroori zarai masnoo’at par sales tax lagane ka soch rahi hai. Filhal, pesticides aur unke active ingredients jo Department of Plant Protection se registered hain, wo sales tax se exempt hain.
IMF ne Pakistan ko kaha hai ke immovable properties ki khareed par advance tax ko barhaye. FBR ne is fiscal year mein filers par 3 percent aur non-filers par 10.5 percent tax lagaya tha, aur Rs. 80 billion ikattha kiya. Ab, lender ne kaha hai ke non-filers par advance tax ko mazeed barhaye.
Lender ne State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) ke barhte financial losses par bhi fikr ka izhar kiya hai aur Pakistan ko kaha hai ke inhe chhor de.
IMF chahta hai ke Pakistan agle fiscal year mein Rs. 1.3 trillion zyada tax ikattha kare, jis se FBR ka annual revenue target Rs. 12.3 trillion ho jayega.
