Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb ne World Bank ke zair-e-intizaam Regional Roundtable on Digital Transformation in Tax Administration ke dauran FBR ke digital transformation plan par tafseel se roshni dali.
Unhon ne kaha ke Pakistan ki tax collection GDP ke 8.8% (2024) se barh kar 10.24% (2025) tak pohanch gayi hai, jo behtareen performance aur mazboot revenue mobilization ka saboot hai.
Minister ne kaha ke hukoomat ka reform agenda core tax processes ke end-to-end digitalization, digital tools ke barhawa istemal, aur economy ke sath integration par mabni hai, taake transparency aur documentation behtar ho sake.
Unhon ne Pakistan Customs ke qadam bhi highlight kiye jo under-invoicing rokne aur trade facilitation systems mazboot karne ke liye uthaye gaye hain.
Senator Aurangzeb ne kaha ke hukoomat human resource capacity barhane aur FBR ke organizational structure ko optimize karne par bhi focus kar rahi hai, taa’ke tax system mein efficiency aur transparency barh sake.
Washington D.C. mein, Finance Minister ne S&P Global ke team se bhi mulaqat ki, jahan unhon ne Pakistan ke sovereign rating upgrade par S&P ka shukriya ada kiya aur kaha ke ab teenon major international rating agencies ke ratings aligned hain, hukoomat ke reform agenda par aik strong external validation hai.
Unhon ne team ko bataya ke Pakistan aur IMF ke darmiyan Staff Level Agreement (SLA) Extended Fund Facility (EFF) ke second review aur Resilience and Sustainability Facility (RSF) ke first review ke liye hasil ho chuka hai.
Finance Minister ne fiscal, monetary aur external sectors par progress share ki aur kaha ke Pakistan sustained economic stability aur growth ke liye S&P Global ke sath constructive engagement jaari rakhega.
