Islamabad: Hukumat ne export development surcharge ke zariye lagne wali customs duty ko khatam kar diya hai, jiska official notification FBR ne jari kar diya. Yeh duty Finance Act 1991 ke tehat apply ki gayi thi.

Exporters ne Prime Minister ko recommend kiya tha ke yeh surcharge export cost barha deta hai, jiski wajah se Pakistan ki products global market me competitive nahi reh paati. Recommendations ko dekhte hue hukumat ne duty ko abolish karne ka faisla kar liya.

FBR ke mutabiq, is faisle se baramdati sector ko seedha faida milega, kyun ke export cost kam hogi aur global markets me Pakistani products ki musabaqat (competitiveness) improve hogi. Sector experts ummeed kar rahe hain ke iss step se exports ko support milegi aur foreign orders me izafa ho sakta hai.
