Islamabad: Pakistan ke major crop zones me Rabi season 2025–26 ki wheat sowing tezi se jaari hai, jis me Punjab ne apna 75% target mukammal kar liya hai. Province ne ab tak 12.5 million acres par kasht pura kiya hai, jo ke 16.5m acres ke seasonal target ka bara hissa hai. Sowing ka process aglay do hafton tak jaari rehne ka imkaan hai, jis ke baad target poori tarah achieve ho jayega.
National Coordination Committee ki weekly meeting me Secretary MNFSR Amir Mohyuddin ne chair kia or meeting me bataya gaya ke iss saal Punjab me post-flood land availability ki wajah se early aur fast sowing ka trend dekha gaya. Meeting me seed movement, sowing progress aur storage planning ka detail review bhi kiya gaya.
Punjab ne confirm kiya ke saari provincial seed requirements poori ho chuki hain:
- 168,000 MT private-sector seed
- 196,000 MT Punjab Seed Corporation seed
Iske ilawa, certified seed movement Sindh, KP aur Balochistan tak smoothly continue rahi, jiska FSC&RD ne bhi tasdeeq ki.
Seed subsidies—PSC ki taraf se Rs 500 per bag aur private companies ke sath collaboration me Rs 550 per bag—ne certified seed usage ko 100% tak improve kar diya.
Iske sath hi Rs 3,500 per 40kg ki indicative support price ne bhi farmers ka trust barhaya.
Provincial Progress:
- Sindh: 533,000 hectares sown; November end tak 85% target expected.
- KP: 781,000 ha target; 461,000 ha complete (59%); sowing December 15 tak jaari rahegi.
- Balochistan: 643,000 ha target; 85,000 ha sowing ho chuki; tube-well irrigated areas me behtari se progress jaari.
Meeting me storage mapping, wheat flour prices ke data discrepancies aur seed movement SOPs ke legal issues par bhi discussion hua.
