Karachi (UrduRoman.News) – Pichlay 12 mahinon me Pakistan ki kul exports USD 32.04 billion rahi hain jab ke imports USD 58.39 billion tak pohanch gayi, jis ke natijay me trade deficit barh kar USD 26.35 billion ho gaya hai. Economic & Financial Analyst Ateeq ur Rehman ne is surat-e-haal ko chinta ka baais qarar diya hai.
Unhon ne kaha ke textile sector ab bhi Pakistan ki exports me sab se bada hissa rakhta hai — jo kul export earnings ka 56%, yaani USD 17.89 billion hai. Baqi USD 14.51 billion exports me textiles & apparel, knitwear, readymade garments, home textiles, rice, fish, fruits, vegetables, meat, leather, surgical goods, sports items, chemicals, aur cement jese products shamil hain.
Ateeq ur Rehman ke mutabiq, furniture aur wooden items ka export Pakistan ki export earnings me abhi tak “missing link” hai — jab ke ye sector bohat bara potential rakhta hai. Pakistan ke skilled craftsmen, behtareen quality wood aur traditional hand-carving expertise ki wajah se ye sector global level par apni pehchaan bana sakta hai.
Unhon ne kaha ke furniture manufacturers aur exporters ko international exhibitions organize karni chahiye — hukoomat aur public bodies ke support ke sath — taake international buyers aur consumers ko attract kiya ja sake.
Agar design innovation, international marketing aur modern equipment me investment ki jaye to Pakistan ka furniture sector domestic market se nikal kar export-oriented industry ban sakta hai — khaas tor par handcrafted wooden aur eco-friendly furniture categories me.
Lekin filhal sector ko kai challenges ka samna hai, jin me mechanization ki kami, quality standards ka issue, branding ka faqat naam aur bulky goods ke high shipping costs shamil hain. Large-scale production na hone ki wajah se export volume bhi limited hai.
Abhi Pakistan ka furniture export zyada tar United States, UAE, Saudi Arabia, UK, Bangladesh aur Sri Lanka tak mehdood hai, lekin dheere dheere Central Asia aur Africa ki markets me bhi expansion ho rahi hai.
