Islamabad (UrduRoman.News) – Pakistan ki auto industry me used yaani purani imported gaariyon ka silsila tezi se barh raha hai, jisse local car manufacturing aur auto parts sector me shadeed pareshani paida ho gayi hai.
Engineering Development Board (EDB) ke data ke mutabiq, 2020 se 2023 tak used cars ka market share sirf 7.5% tha, lekin 2025 me ye barh kar 20% tak pohanch gaya hai. Agar ye rujhan jaari raha to experts ka kehna hai ke aik din Pakistan me bikne wali do me se aik car imported hogi, aur local assembly lines band hone ka khatra barh jayega.
Pakistan Association of Automotive Parts & Accessories Manufacturers (PAAPAM) ke mutabiq, local vendors har saal Rs 48 billion se Rs 60 billion tak ka nuksan utha rahe hain kyun ke used cars ki wajah se locally banne wale parts ki demand kam ho gayi hai.
Industry experts ka kehna hai ke har imported car local economy se taqreeban Rs 1.5 million worth ke auto parts nikal deti hai. Is se chhoti aur darmiyani factories (SMEs) idle capacity aur financial crisis ka shikar ho rahi hain.
Auto parts sector me directly 3 lakh aur indirectly 20 lakh logon ka rozgar hai. Lekin used cars ke zyada import hone se ye rozgar khatra me par gaya hai.
Ek industry official ne kaha, “Har imported car ke sath kai blue-collar jobs khatam ho jati hain.”
Is ke ilawa, import ke liye “gift”, “baggage” aur “transfer of residence” jese schemes ka misuse ho raha hai — jisse under-invoicing, tax evasion aur hawala/hundi ke zariye payment jaise masail samne aa rahe hain. Ye surat-e-haal Pakistan ki FATF compliance ko bhi nuqsan pohcha sakti hai.
Hukoomat ne abhi filhal used cars par 40% regulatory duty lagayi hai, jo 2028–29 tak zero kar di jayegi. Experts kehte hain ke is se agle chand saalon me used cars ka commercial import aur barh sakta hai.
PAAPAM ke aik senior representative ne kaha,
“Ab faisla ye karna hai ke hum Pakistan ko second-hand gaariyon ka dumping ground banayein, ya ek mazboot aur khud-mukhtaar auto manufacturing base tayar karein.”
Ab sab ki nazar Auto Industry Policy 2026–31 par hai — jo ye tay karegi ke Pakistan ka auto sector ab uthane ja raha hai, ya phir girawat ka shikar hoga.
