GOVERNMENT NE TAX REFORMS AGENDA MEIN BARA INKISHAAF KAR DIYA – 190,000 NON-FILERS KI SHANAKHT

Islamabad: Government ne ek joint press conference ke zariye apne economic reform agenda aur tax reforms par ab tak ki taraqqi ka zikar kiya, jis me yeh inkishaaf hua ke takreeban 190,000 afraad jo luxury life style guzarte hain, magar tax nahi dete, unki shanakht ho chuki hai. In afraad se Rs60 billion ke qareebi taxes recover kiye ja sakte hain.

Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb ne kaha ke Government ne structural reforms shuru karte hi taxation ko apne agenda mein sab se upar rakha. Unho ne kaha ke taxation reforms ka maqsad tax-to-GDP ratio ko 13% tak barhana hai jo abhi sirf 9-10% hai. Yeh izafa sirf revenue collection ko mazboot nahi karega, balke mulk ki image ko bhi behtar karega.

Minister of State for Finance Ali Pervaiz Malik ne kaha ke Government ne modern tools aur digitization ko apnaya hai, taake indirect taxation se direct taxation ki taraf shift ho aur data analysis ke zariye tax compliance ko farogh diya ja sake. Task force banai gayi hai jo IT, data analysis aur business experts par mushtamil hai, jo FBR ke efforts ko mazboot banane mein madadgar hai.

FBR Chairman Rashid Mahmood Langrial ne kaha ke digitization aur automation FBR ki priority hai. FBR ne advanced data analytics ka istemal karte hue 190,000 potential taxpayers ki shanakht ki hai. Inme se sirf 38,000 afraad ne apne tax returns file kiye hain, jab ke 169,000 wealthy non-filers ko notices jari kiye gaye hain.

Government ka kehna hai ke yeh reforms sirf tax compliance barhane ke liye nahi, balke aam awam ko mehngai ke shocks se bachaane ke liye bhi kiye ja rahe hain. Measures ke natayij samne aa rahe hain aur inflation rate ab single digit par aa chuka hai.
