ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) aur Technology for People Initiative (TPI) Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) ne machine learning aur data analytics ke usage me future co-operation ko explore karne ke liye MoU sign kiya hai.
Yeh MoU signing ceremony Chairman FBR Rashid Mahmood Langrial ki zair-e-nigrani hui, jis me FBR aur LUMS ke doosray senior officials bhi shamil the. FBR ki taraf se Member Customs (Operations) Muhammad Junaid Jalil Khan ne aur LUMS ki taraf se TPI-LUMS ke Director Dr. Muhammad Fareed Zaffar ne MoU par dastakhat kiye.
Customs aur TPI ke darmiyan yeh taawun Customs Risk Management System ki efficacy ko barhane ke liye hai, taake cross border trade mein asani ho. Is se human interface ko minimize karte hue regulatory compliances ko behter banaya ja sakega, jis me mis-invoicing par control karke due revenues ka yield bhi ensure hoga.
Yeh co-operation National Targeting Centre (NTC) ke design tak bhi phail jayega, jis ka maqsad un shakhsiat, entities aur conveyances ki profiling aur targeting karna hai jo illicit goods ki movement mein mulawis hain. NTC aik ICT based platform hai jo duniya bhar mein Customs aur doosri agencies ke darmiyan information sharing aur targeting ke liye istemal hota hai.
Chairman FBR ne public sector organizations aur academia ke darmiyan qareebi taawun par zor diya taake knowledge ka transfer ho aur indigenous solutions develop kiye ja sakein. TPI ka maqsad academia aur public sector ke darmiyan gap ko kam karna, research aur evidence-based policymaking ka culture promote karna, aur data aur research ko open access mein laakar transparency aur accountability ko behter banana hai.
Pakistan Customs TPI-LUMS ke wasee tajurbe se faida uthayega, jo ke public sector organizations ko custom-made technological solutions pro-bono basis par faraham kar raha hai, machine learning aur data analytics ke zariye.
