NATIONAL ASSEMBLY PASSES FINANCE BILL 2023 WITH CERTAIN AMENDMENTS

ISLAMABAD: National Assembly ne Sunday ko Finance Bill 2023 ka approval de diya hai, jisme proposed budgetary measures mein kuch amendment and total outlay Rs 14.48 trillion shamil hai, jis me macroeconomic stability aur 3.5 Gross Domestic Product  (GDP) ke target ko set kia jaye.

House ne Opposition se lawmakers ki taraf se pesh ki gai all amendments ko reject kar diya hai. Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar ki taraf se  pesh kiya gaya Finance Bill ko majority vote ke sath clause-by-clause reading ke baad pass kia gaya hai.

Finance Bill ke pass hone k sath budgetary process jo 9 June se shuru hua tha finance minister ki budget speech se, ab khatam ho gayi hai.

Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervaiz Ashraf ne all amendments ko jo lawmaker Maulana Abdul Akbar Chitrali, Saira Bano, Nisar Cheema, Zahra Wadood Fatimi, Nawab Sher Waseer, Asiya Azeem ki taraf se propose ki gai thin, jin mein majority vote the unko accept kar diya; Maulana Abdul Akbar Chitrali ki amendment ko accept kar liya gaya, jo bill ke Assembly ki manzoori ke liye shamil ki gayi thi.

Finance Minister ke through National Assembly mein consideration ke liye propose kiya jane wale Finance Bill ko upcoming Fiscal year ke budget mein revenue targets and other matters se related figures mein certain changes ke sath National Assembly se manzoori mil gai hai.

Accordingly, Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) ke revenue target ko Rs9.2 trillion se Rs9.415 trillion tak, Provincial revenue ko Rs5.276 trillion se Rs5.39 trillion tak, federal government expenditures ko Rs.14.46 trillion se Rs14.48 trillion tak, pension volume ko Rs761 billion se Rs801 billion tak, subsidy volume ko Rs1.064 trillion par aur grants volume ko Rs1.405 trillion par barha diya gaya.

In tamam measures ke results mein, budget ki deficit mein improvements dekhi jayengi aur fiscal deficit Rs.300 billion tak decrease hoga.
