ISLAMABAD: Aaj ki meeting mein, Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) policy rate 21 % par unchanged raha. MPC ne yeh note kiya ke April aur May me inflation ka start expected tha.
Committee ne consumers aur businesses ke inflation expectations ke sequential ease ko bhi note kiya. Committee expected hai ke domestic demand tight monetary stance, domestic uncertainty aur external account par stress ke bawajood subdued rahegi. Is backdrop mein, aur decreasing m/m trend ke mutabiq, MPC ka andaza hai ke inflation May 2023 mein 38 percent par peak kar chuka hai, aur agar koi unforeseen developments nahin hoti hain, toh June se ye girna shuru ho jayega.
